Welcome to
A Lil Help
a youth-led mental health initiative
If your mental health app is putting you to sleep, then this one might just be your vibe. Journaling, mood tracking, quotes, freebie vault, virtual pet and goal setting.
Free, beautifully designed mental health infographics and articles including the “What Is?” Series.
Pop-Up Events in NYC public spaces offering 2 minutes of judgement free listening. A lot of us are carrying more than we let people see. Sometimes support starts smaller than we think.
Kinda like volunteers. Our new Microclub initiative is designed for students who care about mental health, creativity, and meaningful impact. This isn’t a club you join. It’s one you help build.
Picture this: mental health support easily accessible and available for everyone. That’s our mission.
Understand emotions, and process feelings
Reduce stress, and increase self-awareness
Be able to have difficult conversations and manage conflict at school, work, or in relationships
Community Reach Metrics
Creating small moments of human connection in increasingly disconnected spaces.
Our Story Begins Here…
Hi! I’m Stella. I started A Lil Help back in 2024 when I was just beginning high school.
I know what it’s like to be struggling but not quite ready to talk to anyone. At the time, so many mental health resources felt intimidating and overly clinical. I didn’t connect with any of it and found myself wishing for something colorful and simpler to digest.
A Lil Help is a space built around that idea - small, approachable ways to feel a bit better in moments of stress and uncertainty.
What began as visually engaging infographics with characters named after emotions evolved into A Lil Help App - a space to track emotions, encourage journaling, and add a lil gamification (cute, virtual pets).
This later expanded into a more comprehensive “What Is?” Series, breaking down topics in ways that felt easier to understand (i.e., What is stress versus anxiety?) Users could save and share these visuals with friends, turning them into tools for both personal reflection and connection. Eventually the project extended beyond the digital space with the creation of physical postcards designed to be shared and handed out in real life.
Since then, A Lil Help has continued to grow into different forms of connection, including my personal favorite, A Lil Listening - 2 minutes of listening in public spaces. No advice, no judgement. Just the gift of presence and being heard.
Sometimes, even a small moment of connection can remind us we are not carrying everything alone.
With heartfelt thanks,
